MIX HTX Story

How THE MIX BEGAN

It all begins with an idea and a drive to push the limits.

Once upon a time, there was a man with a passion for mixing music. His journey began in high school where he took on the responsibility of managing the sound system for the bands he played drums for. With every gig, his love for mixing grew, and he dedicated himself to perfecting his craft.

As fate would have it, he landed a job at 8th Day Sound in Cleveland, Ohio where he was exposed to the world of concert touring sound systems. There, he learned the intricacies of mixing for legendary bands and up-and-coming artists, honing his skills with every performance.

But life has a funny way of taking unexpected turns. When he met the love of his life and started a family, he made the decision to move to Phoenix, Arizona. Though he left the touring life behind, he found new opportunities in mixing for large corporate meetings and private concerts, quickly becoming a sought-after audio engineer.

As his reputation grew, he expanded his skillset, learning everything from video engineering to graphics editing to basic lighting techniques. He even had the opportunity to run camera for President George Bush’s re-election tour and The US Olympic Committee.

With a desire to take his career to the next level, he started his own production company, which grew rapidly, providing AV support for major corporate meetings across the globe. But something was missing. The music that fueled his passion was absent from his day-to-day work.

Determined to find a way back to his roots, he sold his company and started a new chapter in Houston, Texas. There, he mixed sound for a local church, eventually taking on live stream broadcasting as well.

But just as he thought he had found his place, the world was hit by a pandemic, bringing the live production industry to a halt. Undeterred, he adapted to the new normal, setting up a recording studio in his home and offering his mixing skills to churches via the internet.

Through all the twists and turns, this audio engineer never lost sight of his love for mixing music. And who knows what the future holds? Perhaps the next chapter in his story will bring even more surprises and opportunities.

And now, as the world slowly begins to recover from the pandemic, I find myself back in the music scene, doing what I love most - mixing and producing music.
